Villa by the Bay

The site orientation of this house responds to southern views facing south across the San Francisco Bay. The crescent shaped arrangment of volumes, bounds a courtyard with an infinity edge pool at the center–blurring the distinction between the Bay and pool. Broad trellises at the building perimeter, create seamless indoor-outdoor spaces, while reducing glare off the water. The restrained material pallet and flush details throughout create a calm and tranquil effect.  (Backen Gillam Kroeger, Architects of Record)
