50′s Utopian Vision
In order to preserve and enlarge the original 1950’s architecture, this house was stripped down to its post and beam structure before being newly reassembled. Cantilevered over a hill, facing the San Francisco Bay, the owners were captivated as much by the site as by the unique–but small–building. The project included rebuilding every wall, surface, door and window, as well as designing a new detached carport, to make room for an additional bedroom and bath.
