A three-story urban motor court on the entry side, belies an expansive private patio behind this main residence. Situated adjacent to the San Francisco Bay, the building is organized around a large outdoor room with sweeping views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. This sun-filled central space for sitting, swimming and relaxing is pulled inside the building through large trellis framed patio openings and the warm colored plaster which runs continuously both inside and outside the home. Heat gain and glare is passively mitigated by the trellises, and a sod roof over part of the building controls thermal lag. The project contains many features including an infinity edge pool, a spa, entertainment area and outdoor rotisserie.
