The Bay Area is one of the most seismically active regions in the world. We feel that to design sustainably and appropriately for our local conditions includes accounting for this fact. Currently code requirements provide only a minimum level of security for human safety and almost none for the structure and belongings within the home. We are currently working toward applying the highest level of earthquake resistance technology as part of an integrated architectural design to residential and commercial projects in the Bay Area.

Base isolation is a technology in which the building foundation is actually allowed to shift substantially so that it may absorb the shock of the quake without harming the structure. We are proud to be working with < Dr. Ian Aiken of SIE, Inc., a leader and authority on seismic engineering as well as < Ichijo , an established provider of base isolation systems at all scales in Japan.
